Let me see if I can help clear it up any. Or make it worse. ( I would
bet... oh never mind!)

If you always use CPLOAD MODULE as the name and that is the last module
used to IPL with -AND- a CP SET IPLPARMS was NOT used to change the
location of it, then CP will load that module on a re-IPL either via an
abend or SHUTDOWN REIPL.

What this means is, if you replace the CPLOAD MODULE with a new CPLOAD
MODULE, CP will load it when an IPL is done. It can't/won't load the "old"
version of it because it is not there anymore; an IPL is just that - an
Initial Program Load. It loads the program fresh - in this case the CPLOAD
MODULE.

Nothing is preserved when a re-IPL is done. The "old" nuc is burnt toast
on an abend/re-IPL and the load process gets a fresh copy from the parm
disk whether it is the original CPLOAD, a new one or a plain text file with
your grocery list in it.
