HyperPAV support "may" be lurking on the VM horizon; but that is all I can say before they drag me away...

eWeek article about new IBM hardware and HyperPAV

An article in the November 6 eWeek says, in part:

"HyperPAV is an extension of PAV-PAV support is available for users running [VMware's VMware virtualization software] or Linux on a mainframe," McAdam said.

Now, you and I don't believe he really said that, especially with the square brackets around it; ah, the *online* version actually says "...running VM or Linux..." (see
http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,2047135,00.asp).  So somebody somewhere has a clue!

I was worried -- after all those years of having to say (through clenched teeth), "Mainframe does NOT mean MVS" (and, more recently, "z/OS is not a slurring of "The OS"), I was afraid that we were going to have to start adding "And VM does NOT mean VMware".  Though I suspect that it may be too late for either of those...
