So ... this is useful ... why? ... because so many scripting lanuages work with decimal? I like how Tcl handles it. The interpreter maintains several underlying formats for any variable, whatever is viable. So if a variable holds a number, the binary representation can be kicked around instead of decimal. Bigger footprint per, but potential processing payoff. -- R;
