In my experience SuperC can usually be persuaded to do most things, bar maybe putting the cat out, but I'm at a loss to figure out how to do a LINE mode compare but get the output of differences formatted as per a BYTE mode compare, ie something like:
1. Skip equal lines 2. Skip equal parts of non-equal lines as per delta/long/etc 3. Display the diferences in character+hex as per BYTE mode, but with displacements from the start of the line. Any sugggestions? ian ... Ian S Worthington ... Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori, sed dulcius pro patria vivere, et dulcissimus pro patria biber. Ergo, bibiamo pro salute patriae.
