Stumbled across this while lookig for TCP/IP Manuals. I don't recall
seeing any discussion on the topic - did I miss it?

The really weird part was that I was looking in the TCP/IP Manuals to fin
d
out if there was a recommended way of doing a SET RESERVE on MPROUTE ...

and what do I find in here ... ? ...

Enhanced Guest Configuration
z/VM V5.3 helps improve the guest LOGON process by providing a new COMMAN
D
directory statement in a virtual machine definition or profile to
configure the virtual machine. Any form of a CP command may be invoked

using this capability, including privileged class commands (such as SET

RESERVED), on behalf of the virtual machine, eliminating the need to
provide some other method to configure it.

Spooky ...

(Alas, they forgot to spell, "privileged" VM-style with an extra, "d"
("priviledged") - the curse of the spellchecker strikes again. <grin>)

Jeff
