Coding SENSED or NOTSENSED does not change the offline/online status of a device. It simply tells CP whether to use the response from a sense code to determine the type and characteritics of particular devices. Devices are sensed by CP automatically at IPL time. Devices specified as NOTSENSED require an RDEVICE statement to define them to CP.Of course, if you specify a device as NOTSENSED and do not provide an RDEVICE statement for it, it will not be defined (and therefore offline) after you IPL. Changing a device's offline/online status from what is specified in the config file requires you to take some action. John Franciscovich z/VM Development
