Right. Most installations with Linux these days find that the amount of page packs is given by the need to keep utilization under 50% rather than by having enough heads to achieve high paging rates. Back then some IBM internal systems used part of the volume for paging and the other part for backups (instead of using tape). This made sense because backups were done at night where the system was probably not paging a lot and certainly few users there to suffer from poor paging.
