As of z/VM 5.2, this is no longer necessary. The system comes with DTCVSW1 and DTCVSW2 controllers, started by the default AUTOLOG1 PROFILE EXEC. > - defined vswitch > - defined nic > - couple to vswitch > - voila! kill an osa connection, the other takes over; > kill a controller, the other takes over.
