Doesn't PROP automatically save to LGyymmdd ? We move these off to an SFS filespace and pack them, and after a while (and tape backups) remove them from disk.
If you have something logging to a spooled console, how about a VMUTIL task every midnight to: CP SEND CP <logger> SPOOL CON CLOSE <collector> NAME <date> and then RECEIVE and backup those dated filenames?
