Since you're specifying SECURE on the PORT statement, that means that your emulator must be capable of establishing an SSL connection with the host BEFORE it tries to send any data. (Negotiated SSL is available only in z/VM 5.3.) One other thing: Did you add port 992 to the list of telnet ports in the InternalClientParms? Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
