I never "implemented" X on CMS, but I have seen it done. We're talking like more than 15 years ago, Steve. At the time, there were less MT options than we have now. Kind of overkill to XAUTOLOG a virtual machine just to run 'xclock'. But lately, we find that some USS programs will run on OpenVM without change. Very nice! (And with POSIX you automagically get one of the MT flavors, which means you can then run an X app in background without losing your CMS forground command interpreter.)

Has anybody used or implemented anything on VM using the X Window system interface? I came across it while looking for something else in the TCPIP Prog. Ref. manual. Just curious. Thanks, Steve
