"CP LINK userid" is the best way to tell if a userid is defined in the
directory or not. "CP SPOOL PUN userid" will give a non-zero return code for a userid defined in the directory with a password of "NOLOG". This information could be useful if you were trying to determine whether or no t you can send files/consoles to that userid. -- Dale R.
