Maybe the ultimate answer is to have Chuckie, in his spare time (Halloween 
is over...),  write an ALIAS or NEWNAME parm, so you could issue something 
such as (or for example)...  "CP MODIFY CMD SHUTDOWN ALIAS|NEWNAME 
NWODTUHS".  Then, everyone could define their very own command to shutdown 
the system - and happiness would once again reign over the valley.

And then there was the crowd who wanted the same command on all subsystems 

so as to make it simpler.  "Why does IBM invent a new command when we 
already have a perfectly good 'shutdown'?"

And, no, nothing is going to change at this point.
