Yes, there would be interest by those of us who play in the Systems Management arena. Your question about what IBM would or wouldn't do is something I can't answer. If you'd like to propose a joint study or other project and can estimate the cost to IBM, you know who to contact. :-) Now, if only all the storage controllers out there would implement SMI-S interfaces...
