We¹re trying to create new Linux images just as fast as our geeky little
minds can comprehend, and the next logical step would be FlashCopy.

DirMaint appears to have parameters for the use of FlashCopy by the module
DVHDXD, but I can¹t find too much more information beyond what is documented
in the CONFIG DATADVH file. The Clonedisk function appears to be faster than
our current DDR, but has the disadvantage of being asynchronous, so that
we¹d have to trap the messages returned and parse them to find out when the
copies complete.

What is the consequence of setting DVHDXD_FLASHCOPY_BEHAVIOR to ³1² -
Synchronous? How would this effect the copy, and would the results be any
easier to trap?

Could DVHDXD, or something similar, be used within a suitably set up virtual
machine to copy one minidisk to another, outside of DirMaint? Can FlashCopy
be used by the common user?

Is there a simple way, within DirMaint to check to see if a command has
completed in an automated manner?

Any other ideas? Got¹chas? Warnings?
