Colin,
We use virtual FICON CTC's for z/OS guests, but not for TPF. They work fine
for z/OS.

"The popularity and effectiveness of modern anti-depressants is one of the
great challenges of contemporary dramaturgy. We no more want Willy Loman to
solve his problems with Prozac than we want Stanley and Stella Kowalski to get
air-conditioning." -- Playwriting 101

Subject: [IBMVM] Virtual Ficon CTC

One of our TPF support people has asked me if anyone is using the DEFINE FCTC
to define virtual FICON CTC's under VM.

The reason is that when he does this he get unit checks on the odd number
addresses when IPL'ing the first processor TPF. (However, it goes away with a
later soft IPL).

He is wondering about how closely the emulation reflects the real environment.

Is anyone doing anything with this?
