With a 0 END minidisk, the DIRMAP MODULE cannot know how big a disk is. DIRMAP has an internal table with various sizes. When it finds an end-cylinder passing MDL 1 boundary, it changed the model number to cover that cylinder. e.g. with an MDISK on the volume from 1112 for 10 cylinders, it'll become MDL 2 Special -non standard sizes- can be defined in control file FULLPACK DEFINES
So, what we do is define all volumes with a fullpack minidisk 0 nnnn in user FULLPACK, where nnnn matches the real size fo the volume. User FULLPACK is exluded in DIRMAINT and in VMBACKUP. 2008/3/17, Fox Blue <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Hello all, > > I have just set up the DIRMAINT on my system and have following question > regarding the definition of full pack minidisk. > > Up to now (without DIRMAINT) I defined dummy users to own the special are > as > like cylinder 0 of Volumes, SPACE and SPOOL areas. > > In the USER DIRECT file I coded for example for TEMP disk space: > > USER $TDISK$ NOLOG > > > > > > MDISK 50A0 3390 001 END TDSK01 R > > > > > * > > > > The address 50A0 is a 3390-3 and so coding END should in my opinion cover > > the 3338 cylinders of this volume. > > After importing my USER DIRECT and executing a DIRMAP I get following rep > ort: > > TDSK01 3390 $ALLOC$ 50A0 * 0 0 1 > > $TDISK$ 50A0 * 1 1112 1112Over > lap > .TDISK. 50A0 * 1 3338 3338 > > > > This means that the coded statement derived from the USER DIRECT is > interpreted as 3390-1 model having only 1112 cylinders.
