Hello,

We are actively going from EMC to DS6800 right now.
EMC did not have any interface that is direct for z/VM (or z/VSE).

It was all write your own scripts to a middle ware system.

Ceclia:

>From EMC's web site: "EMC Compatible Flash for z/OS enables IBM
FlashCopy commands to be executed in an EMC storage array.
Compatible Flash intercepts and interprets IBM FlashCopy channel
commands on the z/OS host and emulates command execution on EMC
Symmetrix storage systems."

However, there is NO support for z/VM. The EMC Support Matrix
only mentions z/VM at all in stating re z/VM 5.1 that "IBM plans
to discontinue service for this version of z/VM on 09/30/2007."

You really need to ask EMC about z/VM support in detail.
