Do you want the logs to be transmitted in real-time (within reasonable processing delay) or in batchmode at the end of day?
A logfile consolidation server could be writen to do either but the data collection and transfer mechanisms would be different. A HotRdr/Timer ser ver could easily close server console logs just before midnight and then proc ess them one at a time to maintain a compressed copy on VM for a few days and send via NJE job or FTP to a z/OS system for further processing. A SCIF server (like PIPESERV on IBM Downloads) to receive each incoming SCIF message, process them for local use and then to pass via some TCPIP client/server mechanism to a logfile collection server on z/OS or unix. /Tom Kern /301-903-2211 On Fri, 23 May 2008 08:37:15 -0700, Howard Rifkind <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wr ote: >I know that this topic has been addressed some time not so long ago. > >I have to get my z/VM console log files over to z/OS and I don't know th e best procedure to use to do this. > >What is the best procedure to use? > >Any help and an example (rexx exec or the like to serve as a sample) wou ld be much appreciated. > >Thanks > > > >
