It is more like 6.9 (2.3 *3). Also, some z/Linux formatting routines reserve
another 10% (6.9 - .7 = 6.2).

Subject: 3390-MOD9

Hi,

A 3390-MOD9 is about 8.5 Gig in size. When I give a RedHat Linux guest one of
these devices Linux recognizes that this MOD9 is only 6.1 Gig. Where is the
rest of the space going?

I am running z/VM 5.3 and my Linux is 4.6 with the Kernel level of 2.6.9-67.

Thanks, Terry
