I kept my hand drawn maps - too much work went into them to throw

and that date is earlier than 1975.

It states that the Crowthers didn't even map the caves until 1972.
Although, of course, a lot of the structure of Mammoth Cave was known
to Stephen Bishop in the 19th century.
