Packets do not enter the controller. I would: 1. Use OSA/SF and/or the HMC OSA Facilities to look at the adapter for any anomalies. Since you are (I think) using a Layer 3 VSWITCH, the local IP addresses are registered in the OSA. If, somehow, you caused the gateway address to be registered with the OSA, the packet will go nowhere. 2. Use NETSTAT ARP ALL TCP DTCVSW1 and see if there is anything unexpected. 3. Reset the chpid and try again. 4. If that doesn't work, get a PMR open with OSA support so that they can collect diagnostics. Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
