The z/VM Reference Guide, http://www.vm.ibm.com/library/zvmref3f.pdf, says that a z9 requires z/VM 4.4 or later. (That's where you can find the what's-supported-where matrix - on the last few pages.) Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
