The Mailit-ROUTE entries in DISTRIB NAMES are to cheat.  For "normal"
MAILIT use you don't need such entries.

A normal comaand
  MAILIT TO [EMAIL PROTECTED] ....
should work.  With such a Mailit-ROUTE, it should be possible to issue
  MAILIT TO(scott at ZVM8MVS) ....
and MAILIT would "zap" the address to become
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

The ROUTE facility was added to MAILIT when my customer started using
SMTP and Lotus/Notes instead of MEMO: this way we didn't need to
change execs that issued EXEC MAILIT TO(xxxxx AT KBMEMO) ...

It should be explained in MAILIT HELPCMS.
