In case you were not around in 1987, it was the year that John Akers declared to be "the year of the customer"; however, he failed to communicate that to some of his employees. It wasn't until 1988 or 1989 that the answers of WAD (working as designed) and BAD (broken as designed) were eliminated from the vocabularies of the support staff. Those were the bad old days.
