Easy Alan, it was a joke, and I realize that z/VM is probably among the last group in IBM able to default to the latest machine instructions, due to the need to support those with older hardware.

I don't know of any IBMer who learns opcodes by reading PL/X compiler output. I haven't looked at the output of a HLL compilation in years. What a horrible way to learn opcodes - it's far easier to read the POP.
