Chris,

using the clone.sh script
It's working for me. Did you extract it from the tgz (not tar) file on
ftp://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/SG247493/ ? We had an "issue" and
updated the tar file on August 27th. My clone.sh is dated 6/26/08 and is
390 lines (hey! 390 :)) and 13,483 bytes.

server, the script fails when trying to bring device 2100 online.
That's not good. I will definitely try to help. If you could do these
commands and send me the two output files, I will look at them.:

    # sh -x clone.sh from goldlnx to newlnx1 > firstRun.txt 2>&1
    # sh -x clone.sh from goldlnx to newlnx2 > secondRun.txt 2>&1

> The only way I can get another successful clone is to completely log off
the controller (LINUX00) and log back on and reinvoke the clone.sh script.
Just a hunch, but try "vmcp det 2100", rather than a reboot/logoff, as a
workaround.

on.
Good! When we first started writing the cookbooks, we tried writing as
many "magic scripts" as possible with the goal of achieving "Linux
appliances". What we found over time is that new sysadmins don't want
magic, they want to learn what's going on. So we're down to just the
single clone.sh Linux script, and have replaced scripts with more examples
and description.

Hope this helps.
