Not necessarily. I just signed onto one of my Linux guests and did a #cp signal shutdown within 10 command. The last few lines on the screen are: sysfs umounted /dev/dasda1 umounted �1A..done..done Shutting down MD Raid ..done Stopping udevd:..done proc umounted Please stand by while rebooting the system... 00: HCPSIG2112I Signal timeout interval has expired md: stopping all md devices.
