Here is the problem, Fran:

We are an outsourcer; the RSCS network "belongs" to us; the TCP-attached
network does NOT belong to us - it belongs to the client. And various
auditing and security requirements must keep those separate.

I guess it is possible to set up a "separate" RSCS server for the
client, but why should I need to, just so that some programmers can
print their programs off? It seems an awful waste, since LPR does the
trick perfectly - unless the file is large. And, after all, that is what
it is there for! :)

I would reecommend that you quit using the LPR command and set up you
printers using the free LPR feature in RSCS.
 
It's a little work to set it up but it is sweet to use.
