While others have answered your question about finding VM wait state codes (HELP HCPnnnnW), take Kris' advice and look further: Unless someone re-IPLed VM manually, your system abended and the system couldn't restart automatically. If it did abend, you need to solve that problem, too. Of course, don't let that stop you from fixing whatever is causing the 912. Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
