Do a Q SYSOPER -- you'll probably find MAINT is set as sysoper.. SET SYSOPER OPERATOR to cure it. If OPERATOR got logged off - the next privileged user z/VM finds will be SYSOPER. What your seeing happen is to ensure the 'system operator' gets the msg...
