Lee, perhaps it is time for us to formulate a requirement for IBM to allow the FB-512
minidisk block start and size numbers to be specified using the suffixes K, M, and G. Your
example could look like this instead:
MDISK 600 9336 2100M 4194K LX2000 M
Of course, there would need to be precise definitions of what values K, M, and G really
represented (i.e., K = 1024 or K = 1000).
:-)

Thanks... I missed that... But even for the customer we're dealing
with, 1000GB (very round numbers)will eat that up.
And I dread even looking at MDISK statements with big numbers like:
MDISK 600 9336 2100000000 4194200 LX2000 M

Hi Lee,
The biggest EDEV you can have is 1TB minus one page, with some
exceptions depending on the application of the EDEV:
* DRCT, PAGE, SPOL allocations must reside in the first 64GB (minus
one page) of the volume
* CMS volumes are technically limited to 381GB, but will be less
than that in practice
More explanations can be found in Chapter 22 of the CP Planning and
Administration manual.

Subject: Max EDEV size?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've looked, and maybe overlooked, but is there a maximum size for an
EDEV? LUNs on a SAN can be pretty big... Anyone know if it's
documented anywhere?
Thanks,
Lee
