We have a minidisk defined as 50 cylinders that a software product
claims is a RECOMP disk. Before I question the vendor, is there a way
to query this minidisk to see if someone did a FORMAT (RECOMP?

q disk q
LABEL VDEV M STAT CYL TYPE BLKSZ FILES BLKS USED-(%) BLKS LEFT
BLK TOTAL
SMM191 193 Q R/O 50 3390 4096 2221 8657-96 343
9000
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 15:49:18
q v 193
DASD 0193 3390 AEI005 R/O 50 CYL ON DASD 8A02 SUBCHANNEL = 000A

The software says:

*** EDF Blocksize: 4096; 8621 of 9000 blocks in use.
*** Minidisk label: SMM191
*** 50 of 100 cylinders formatted.
*** "(RECOMP" is in effect for this minidisk.

This is not like the S-DISK 100/107 RECOMP.
