This is reminiscent of the HTT codes that are sometimes encountered. It
seems that all of the HTT codes had exactly the same description. IBM
was supportive when I pointed out that they at least could point me in
the general direction of what caused the ABEND without giving away the
family jewels. The problems I was having appeared to be related to 3rd
party software, but I had no way of knowing or even guessing. They did
change the documentation as a result of the RCFs they received.
In addition to the suggested PMR, I suggest submitting an RCF. You might
get a little better description of the problem, at least in a future
release or version of the system.

Richard Schuh

At another assignment I believe we experienced this or another
of the VAI abends running 5.3 and IBM sent use some test code.
I suggest you open a severity one ticket with IBM.

Subject: z/VM 5.4.0 RSU 801 - System Abend Code - VAI008
Dear list,
Does anyone know what this system abend code is - VAI008?
The CP Codes manual only says that the abend code is issued by
module HCPVAI and that this module is object code only with no source
available. The codes manual makes no attempt to give a description of
what caused the abend.
