VM supports SCSI disk now, but not SCSI tape.
SCSI is SAN (FCP). The cards are FICON cards with FCP personality. In FCP mode, they act more like OSA cards. You can attach one or more (usually more) FCP subchannels to a guest. Maybe the guest will know what to do with them! But CP can use them too, so you can use one or more FCP subchannels to define an EDEV (emulated device) making a SAN-land disk look like a 9336 to VM.
