I'm confused about a MAC address being assigned to a guest.
I've created a new linux guest. In the directory I have
SPECIAL 1D00 QDIO 3 SYSTEM VSWTCH1

When I start the linux I keep getting a message saying that the IP address
is already defined. I know that this is a unused IP address. Then I
noticed that the MAC address for this NIC is the same as an existing Linux
guest.

New guest SLES002 -
q v 1d00
OSA 1D00 ON NIC 1D00 UNIT 000 SUBCHANNEL = 0014
1D00 DEVTYPE OSA CHPID 01 OSD
     1D00 MAC *02-00-85-00-00-06* CURRENT
     1D00 QDIO-ELIGIBLE QIOASSIST-ELIGIBLE
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 09:17:25

q vswitch vswtch1 details
<snip>
Adapter Connections:
  Adapter Owner: *SLES001* NIC: 1D00.P00 Name: vswtch1
    RX Packets: 3804832 Discarded: 0 Errors: 0
    TX Packets: 3243835 Discarded: 0 Errors: 0
RX Bytes: 2339233141 TX Bytes: 3573706095
Device: 1D02 Unit: 002 Role: DATA vPort: 0096 Index: 0096

      Unicast MAC Addresses:
        *02-00-85-00-00-06* IP: 199.44.xxx.xx

How/Why is a 2nd guest getting the same mac address as one that is already
running? I tried creating a NIC at a different address and got a new mac
address. So I detached the 1D00 - created a new NIC at 700, which got a new
MAC address, then defined a NIC at 1D00 and again got the same old MAC
address.
