Dave,

Just like the 123 mdisk on the MAINT user id it is a FULLPACK minidisk
definition of all your dasd that you want HiDRo to backup.

MDISK 123 3390 0000 END V3R001 MR

the 123 MDISK has to be in Maint so that DIRMAINT, VM:Secure, or
VM:Director can use it to run DIRECTXA

MDISK 202E 3390 000 END V3R001 MR
MDISK 236A 3390 000 END V3W001 MR
MDISK 236B 3390 000 END V3W002 MR
MDISK 2383 3390 000 END V3S001 MR

HiDRo uses VMIMAGE to know what dasd to back and how large it is.
and of course what and where to RESTORE in a disaster or DR exercise.

A lot of us have used it for years and more than one or 2 shops.

good luck

CA's HiDRO

Anyone on the list using CA's VM:Backup with HiDRO for Disaster Recovery?
I am curious how you addressed the requirement of creating a userid called
VMIMAGE which "owns all the data in the shop." I am concerned about the
VMIMAGE user 'owning' the data. What exactly does this mean and kind of
'ownership' are they talking about?

Thanks,
Dave
