Amy,

According to where you are in the country there are several VM and LINUX
user groups that can help you

you can find out USER Group information here:

http://www.vm.ibm.com/events/usergrps.html

In April of this year Tracy Dean of IBM went to most of the VM user groups
and gave a presentation on OPERATIONS MANAGER.

you can find the information for the MVMUA meeting and a copy of the
presentations here:

VM information needed

Good Evening,

I support Operations Manager under zVM which is pretty new to me. I am
in the Automation group and all of our products up until now have been
either Mainframe or Web based. We use the minidisk as opposed to SFS. I
have wrote some very basic rule defitions and schedules but I would like
to get an idea of how the Exec facility works. Having supported several
products w/in automation each product has it's own utilities, supplied
variables, or functions in the version of REXX it supports. Operations
Manager, I assume, would be the same way. I cannot find much information
on how the EXEC utilities are managed or supported. Can you compile them?
I have also a question on management of the config file containing the
automation definitions w/in Operations Manager. For example, what is the
best practice with support various products? I have chosen to imbed config
files but not really sure if that is the Best Practice. Also, how is roll
out managed under a minidisk? We have a couple of machines now that are
running zVM and I would like to keep both machines at same level of
automation.

Any 'reference', 'training', 'website', 'usergroup' that you look
favorably on is welcomed information on my end.

Thank you,
Amy Forsyth
