We were using the SYSASCII console today and the person driving was a
pretty fast typist... At one point, in a Yast menu (but I think that's
just coincidence) the SYSASCII screen appeared to hang. He tried
closing the HMC app and reopening it, and tried to detach it, but then
the detach from MAINT hung. Tried logging on to that userid, hung.
In short, anything or any command that touched that userid hung. It
looked like the user hung on I/O of olden days, but IND I/O showed no
I/O, but I assume the SYSASCII I/O isn't "normal"...
We finally had to shutdown all the other Linuxen and do a SHUTDOWN IMMED
REIPL... (The first normal SHUTDOWN REIPL also hung..)
Has anyone seen anything like this?
