Those messages are both from CP. If CMS has been IPLed, then the most likely cause of the problem is that the TERMINAL MODE is CP. You can check to see if this is so by entering the command Q TERM. Look for the setting for MODE (2nd line, next-to-last item). Use the command TERM MODE CMS to correct it.
