I used to work with a guy who put together code that does what you're
talking about using VMSCHED with WAKEUP. It monitored spool
utilization, including rate of change of spool utilization. I think at
each snapshot interval, and I don't remember what interval the code
used, it did a "SPOOLCHN ALL (HIGH 10", saving the output for the next
interval so that if there was a sudden increase in spool utilization, it
could, probably, pinpoint the user accumulating the increase. I don't
have the code anymore, but it would be a SMOP (simple matter of
programming) to put it together.
