Remember that on boxes with variable-sized HSA, the DYN option must be specified when you run the IOCP utility. In addition to the Usual Suspects in SYSTEM CONFIG 1. You must have room in HSA 2. IOCDS must have expansion room (MAXDEV in IODF) 3. IOCP must be run with the DYN option 4. HCD must not be running (or you must be using HCD *instead* of issuing dynamic I/O commands yourself) 5. The *Support Element* must have Enable Dynamic Channel Subsystem selected (e.g. via Single Object Operations on the HMC) 6.
