You don't need to process dumps in OPERATNS, any user can do that. You only need enough space on your A-disk and the dump in your reader. So: If you don't want to use OPERATNS CP TRANS OPERATNS RDR ALL TO * RDR The number of records of these dumps give your rough idea of how much 4K blocks CMS disk space you need. Divide that by 180 and you roughly know the number of cylinders.
Then LINK to MAINT 193 to find the VM Dump Tool. And you can issue DUMPLOAD If DUMPLOAD would fails: the dumps will still be in your reader, isseu CP CH RDR CLASS D NOHOLD and you can restart. Even when DUMPLOAD succeeds, the dumps are still in the reader, purge them when you know IBM has received the dumps. 2009/12/30 Bill Munson <william.mun...@bbh.com> > Frank, > > You have to make sure that OPERATNS 191 mdisk is large enough to hold the > dump, at least 500 cyl or so. > > While you are make the MDISK larger open a problem with IBM and they will > send you instructions how hey want the CPDUMP processed and sent to them > > the command to process the CPDUMP is "DUMPLOAD" the CMS help facility is > quite useful (help cputil menu). > > It looks like your RDR is set up properly to issue DUMPLOAD and follow the > instructions presented. > > good luck > > Bill Munson > Sr. z/VM Systems Programmer > Brown Brothers Harriman & CO. > 525 Washington Blvd. > Jersey City, NJ 07310 > 201-418-7588 > > President MVMUA > http://www2.marist.edu/~mvmua/ <http://www2.marist.edu/%7Emvmua/> > http://www.linkedin.com/in/BillMunson > > > > > "Frank M.
