I can't think of any file type for which I am happy to have XEDIT make
my text uppercase when I didn't do that myself. I normally cry out
lout when that happens (which is why we refer to ALL CAPS text as
SHOUTING :-)

PS Could the "feature" stem from the days where folks had terminals
that displayed only capitals and you would waste hours finding the
mistyped characters?
