The server does not accept CMS commands - but I would be pretty lucky to 
catch it before the timed RE-IPL anyway (usually in the middle of the 
night). The timing window on this must be very narrow because it does not 
happen that often. 

However, when I get the RC /= 0 from the failed rename I display a number 
of diagnostics at that time and including the PIPE AFTFST | CONS in those 
diagnostics would seem like a useful addition.

In the server that is having the problem I am only using standard CMS 
commands (COPYFILE, RENAME & ERASE) to handle the files..
