Except that's not the one I'm referring to. 

IBM made available a version of DDR that directly supported PIPE input and 
output. It was a summer project by an intern, and they released it from one of 
the VM developer pages. It used the standard DDR format instead of the PIPEDDR 
format. 

I'll see if I can find the information about it. It was posted to this mailing 
list.
