The DIRECTID EXEC (and its REXX pipeline stage counterpart) sent earlier
do not rely on the message 'TEXT' setting and handle NOLOG userids just
like any other ID (they are either in the directory or not).
Example, from a CMS session:
directid dirmaint
Ready(00001); T=0.01/0.01 17:03:57
directid nonesuch
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 17:04:06
A userid in the directory is indicated by rc=1 ("TRUE"), and one not in
the directory by rc=0 (False).
