We run 2 so don't run into this issue since the other then takes over as master if the master K goes down (including TCP/IP). We have seen as we fire up the tests that K(s) need to be up when proxies come up or they just don't connect. In production, 2 Ks for HA so no problem. I'd discuss your situation with your GDPS team.
