Hi Nikolai -- Any chance you can try a different FTP client (I use Linux, so not up on current clients -- filezilla perhaps) ?
I seem to recall that the native ftp client with Windows XP had a built in limit of 2G for downloads.. I'm not positive about this, and maybe it was confusion based on FAT limits. My next step would be to try a different ftp client -- maybe others can suggest a good candidates..
