Alan, If you are already a LinkedIn user then you would know what groups are. No body is asking you to join LinkedIn at all. If you are not interested in LinkedIn then you should ignore the post and a comment is not necessary.
You are a member of the Knights of VM so that is the only qualification to join the Group on LinkedIn if you were interested. Nothing about this is political or religious so you have nothing to fear.
